Conquering Shires & Spires 2025: Meet the winners of our running festival races

Undulating hills and some serious distance to be covered – our Shires & Spires Running Festival doesn’t take any prisoners.

Add in a day of scorching sun and high temperatures yesterday, and our runners had their work cut out.

But while the Naseby-based race is famed for its challenging course, it is also well-known for providing some of the best scenery on offer.

I often say that the Northamptonshire countryside is far more spectacular than it is ever given credit for, and once again it proved one of the stars of the show as our runners took on races from 10k up to our 35-mile ultra.

Thanks as ever to the brilliant Adrian Howes for capturing these - and many more - images of the event

A massive shout out to all the spectators who attended and cheered everyone on, and to our friends at the Royal Oak who did a fantastic job of helping us host the event.

As always, we had some incredible individual performances, most notably in the men’s 10k event where Andrew Morris set a new course record.

Meanwhile, Ryan Brown kept us on our toes in the men’s ultra, finishing in 4:34:01 – not long after the winner of the marathon!
