Thames Trail 2025 – Take on the Thames with our 47-mile ultra

Have you got one last ultra in you for 2025?

The Thames Trail, our final Grand Slam event of the year, is fast approaching – but there’s still plenty of time to sign up.

Taking place on Saturday, October 25, this demanding run along the Thames is one of the most popular events in the British ultra running calendar.

Covering 47-miles between Iffley in Oxfordshire and Henley-on-Thames, the 2024 race was won by Josh Chamberlain, who led from start to finish. Katie Harris was the women’s champion.

Runners will enjoy the company of England’s largest river as it makes its way past ever-changing scenery, beautiful houses and traditional rowing clubs.

Expect everything from tarmac paths to muddy trails as the route takes in both the Thames Path and Ridgeway National Trails, so entrants should be careful not to forget the words ‘National Trail’ rather than simply reading Thames Path.

This is the second year where entrants will finish at the YMCA Y Centre, in Lawson Road, Henley-on-Thames. This will mean runners will be able to access showers, hot food and drinks, and changing facilities at the end of the race.
