Earlier this month, our popular Cyclosportive event, the Tour De Northamptonshire, returned to offer cyclists the chance to pick their preferred distance and enjoy a scenic ride around the county.
The event was a huge success, with riders enjoying a suitably sunny day. Such was the nature of the feedback that it has got me thinking about the possibility of expanding the format.
What about a Tour De Bedfordshire or Leicestershire along the same lines?
The trick would be to make future events as accessible to all as our current Northamptonshire tour. For those who don’t know that consists of three varied distances – 30, 40 and 60 miles.
Offering varied levels of difficulty means we can cater for cyclists of all abilities or those who want to either take it a bit easier to push themselves to tackle new challenges.
I would certainly want to follow the same mantra for any new Cyclosportive events.
So, what do you think? Would you be interested in more events in neighbouring counties, or perhaps a Cyclosportive series where riders can tackle a number of different routes.
And do you have any favoured routes in those areas that you think we should incorporate?
I’d love to hear what you think. These are your events and this is your opportunity to shape what we do next.
