You can run. Cycling – it’s as easy as riding a bike. You even did some swimming back in school.
But triathlon? Nah, that sounds way too hard.
Don’t you have to run a marathon, cycle hundreds of kilometres and swim in shark-infested waters? Or something like that?
Well, I’m here to tell you that nothing could be further from the truth! With our Bedford Team Triathlon Relays, triathlon is for all.
Catering for beginners to experienced triathletes alike, this is the perfect way to, ahem, dive into your triathlon dreams.
Sponsored by global triathlon brand, Zone3, the event is returning for its 12th year on Sunday, July 20. Consisting of a three-person team format, the Bedford Team Triathlon Relays are open to individual teams as well as tri clubs.
Each team member will complete a 750m swim, 23km bike and 5k run. All three participants must complete each discipline in turn before the team moves on to the next one.
All changeovers between team members take place in transition – in other words, the event consists of three connected relay races using all three triathlon disciplines.
The Bedford Team Triathlon Relays take place at Box End Park in Box End, Kempston. The swim and run legs take place entirely in Box End itself, while the bike course heads out on local, easy to follow roads, mixing country lanes with some fast sections.
This event represents great value for a sprint distance triathlon and the relay format means it is much more fun too! There is a limit of 144 teams, so its never too early to reserve your team places.
