It was a cold and icy start to the ultra running season as more than 250 intrepid runners took on. our curtain-raising Country to Capital race.
The event, which covers 43 miles between Wendover and London’s Little Venice canal basin, took place on Saturday, with Sage Pearce-Higgins leading the runners home.
It’s not the first time Sage, who finished in four hours, 57 minutes and 42 seconds, has won the event, and it was fantastic to see him and several other familiar faces return to the Country to Capital field.
I was also really pleased to see some our friends from Black Girls Do Run at the event, with Trina Dawkins running it and her crew helping everyone out at the end of the race.
Huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the event. We are now looking forward to tackling the somewhat shorter but equally exciting Irchester Dirt Run at the end of the month… January running rules!
