Head out of the door and enjoy more adventure with Go Beyond in 2025

“It’s a dangerous business, going out of your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

The above quote will probably be familiar to fans of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books and films franchise.

Bilbo Baggins is at once warning about the dangers of the open road and the vagaries of the wide world, while encouraging people, er… hobbits, to embrace the adventure they’ll find there.

It’s a refrain anyone who loves to add a bit of spice into their lives will feel affinity with – including those runners, cyclists and swimmers who ‘Go Beyond’ their doorsteps to enjoy the physical and mental challenges that can be found at our events.

Push your boundaries in 2025

Because we know how much you enjoy pushing yourself to the next level, whatever that may be, we’ve got a wide-range of events planned for 2025.

From fast 5ks to our multi-day ultra in Nepal, we pride ourselves on having something for everyone.

Both the Go Beyond and ultra running season will kick off in Wendover on Saturday, January 4 with our Country to Capital Ultra.

This 43-mile yomp through the Buckinghamshire countryside and along the Grand Union Canal all the way to London’s Little Venice is one of our favourite events and the perfect way to brush off the Christmas cobwebs.

You can enter now by visiting our sign-up page, where you can also find all the logistical details you’ll need to plan your run. If you still need some more encouragement, check out our articles from this year’s event to give you that little extra bit of inspiration.

Country to Capital is also the starting point for those brave souls looking to take on our Grand Slam of four ultra marathons over 180 gruelling, but rewarding, miles.

Something for everyone

Whether a gruelling ultra distance run through the mud of the English countryside is or isn’t your thing, we have something for everyone in next year’s race schedule.

As well as our Country to Capital, Rose of the Shires, Thames Trail and Shires & Spires Ultras, our flagship half-marathon – The Amazing Northampton Run – will be returning next September.

Shorter runs will feature the Wellingborough 5, our always popular Irchester Dirt Run, and the Sunset 5k Road Race, while larger events like the Amazing Northampton Run and Shires & Spires will also include a host of shorter options such as the Amazing Northampton 3-miler and the Shires & Spires 10k.

We’ll be catering for those of you who like to add a cycle and swim to your run by holding the Pitsford Triathlon and Bedford Triathlon Team Relays, as well as our Cyclosportive event.

Once again, we’ll be capping off the year with another trip to Nepal, for five days and 123-miles of running across the Himalayan foothills.

Our Capital to Country Multi-Day Ultra really is the adventure of a lifetime – a challenge even Bilbo Baggins would be proud to complete!
