Completing four across the year and 180 miles at an average of less than seven minutes per mile is hardcore.
But that’s what Andrew Platt, the winner of this year’s Go Beyond Grand Slam, did.
Andrew picked up the Simon Small Memorial Shield after completing our Country to Capital, Rose of the Shires, Shires and Spires, and Thames Trail ultras in 2025.
He was one of five Grand Slam finishers this year, completing the four events in an eye-wateringly quick time of 25 hours and 54 minutes.
Andrew’s cumulative time smashed those of our previous winners who both clocked 34 hours in total.
He ran 5:35 at Country to Capital in January, eight hours 17 at Rose of the Shires, 5:08 at Shires & Spires, and finally six hours 53 at Thames Trail, a race he also won.
The five other Grand Slammers in 2025 were Zoe Pickering, Luke Venn, Robert Yates and our first double grand slammer Marc Sanderson.
