The second annual Going Round in Circles run was even bigger and better than last year’s inaugural event, with more than twice as many runners taking part in the unique race round London.
Competitors from all over the world, including Norway, France, the UAE and New Zealand, took part alongside runners from Cornwall, Essex, Oxfordshire, Nottingham and Kettering.
For those that don’t know, Going Round in Circles is a super fun event centred around the London Underground’s Circle Line, with the aim being to run between all 27 stations on the line.
Entrants take part singularly or in a team of two, and run either in an anticlockwise or clockwise direction between every tube station – taking a selfie at each on the way as proof.
It’s a really relaxed event, and this Sunday’s run was no exception. Starting and finishing in the literally and metaphorically delicious surrounding of Gail’s Bakery in Paddington Basin, the event was also able to welcome the unusual presence of the sun.
In all, 76 runners took part – compared to last year’s 32 – and we are confident the event will continue to get even bigger.
So much so, that we are planning a second tube line run later this year, featuring the Bakerloo Line… full details to follow!
