Beat the winter blues by planning your 2026 race schedule – starting at Country to Capital

Can you believe it’s almost Christmas?

You know what that means….yeah, yeah, festive movies, presents, chocolates, turkey.

Sure. But anyone who’s seriously caught the running bug isn’t worried about these things. The likes of you and I are already busy booking events for next year.

And that needs to be true if you’re looking to enter our always popular Country to Capital Ultra.

This is generally a sell-out event, so make sure you sign-up asap.

The 43-mile race has taken place every year since 2009, even beating the Covid cancellations of 2020 to put on a later-in-the-year event.

And the 18th edition is set to take place on Saturday, January 10 next year.

Starting at Wendover’s Shoulder of Mutton Pub, the run travels across the Buckinghamshire countryside, through the well-heeled streets of Denham and along the Grand Union Canal before finishing at the Stowe Centre next to the Little Venice Canal in London.

As the ultra running season’s curtain raiser, Country to Capital attracts competitors from across Europe.

Last year, saw winner Kallum Pritchard smash the course record by a whopping 11 minutes to finish in an impressive four hours, 45 minutes and 17 seconds.

Can you do better? Or beat all your expectations by taking place in one of the best ultra races around?
